Thanks, Davin. When I saw my name in that list I too thought you'd confused me for a conservative.

You're seeing things in sharp relief as a relative newcomer that have faded into the background for us oldtimers. I automatically respond to one of the most basic rhythms of the community: Rightist bloodlust. I've learned that there's no reasoning with them when the Niagara of testosterone and adrenaline starts flowing. Like a school of piranha, they try to take a bite out of anybody who ventures too close. I wait until they're sated, because they're most receptive to reason in a well-fed torpor. Anything less than obsequious forelock-tugging simply provokes a berserker rage at times like this. Since I'm not all that good at the obsequious thing, I just watch from the sidelines and await better emotional weather, and I know that many of the other unRightists do the same.

That's not to say I'm not enjoying your Quixotic battles...you go, boy!
