The inspectors were obviously not being aggresive and readily accepting of poor Iraqi excuses. It is quite obvious their prime goal was to avert a war not find evidence of Iraqi transgression. Their feable efforts actually promoted war by making it clear they were unlikely to find anything. Why was the import of the aluminum tubes hidden if their intended use was appropriate? Telegraphing search plans and suspicions to allow Iragis to cover up evidence or come up with excuses is a poor way to catch transgressions.
It amazes me how you and other antiwar posters are willing to believe any acusation against Bush, but seem to feel Saddam deserves an innocent until proven guilyty beyond a shadow of doubt approach. He lost that right when he invaded Kuwait and obstructed weapons inspectors from the start. You guys are living in an ivory tower fantasy land if you believe Saddam is innocent of all the charges against him.

Mark
