The more information that comes in, the less likely it is that the explosions at the marketplace hit a few days ago were the result of misplaced U.S. ordnance. Apparently it would have required a targeting error of about a mile, unlikely for either a laser-guided or GPS munition.

Odds are with an accidental hit by an Iraqi antiaircraft shell, although the two craters make that seem a bit odd. Two misses? Now, given the PR value of this to Iraq, a cynic might suggest something else.

Now, apparently another marketplace has been "hit." Yeah, not a house, not an office building, not a parking ramp, or anything else. Another marketplace, very similar to the last one. Amazing coincidence. And if the result either misplaced American missiles or misfired Iraqi antiaircraft weapons, an extraordinary run of bad luck.

Naturally, a huge amount of film on this has already been spread far and wide by Al Jazeera.

You know, if a third marketplace gets hit by a "stray missile" in the next few days, even someone less cynical than I am might start to smell a rat.
