Re: War responsibilities

It's the dawn of a new day here in America, Raoul.
We have a new administration of born again good ole boys, and their law is the law of the corporate jungle. And their Bible.
Treaties and international law be damned!

THEY have decided what is good for us, good for you, and everyone else isn't allowed an opinion.
Well, we've just become not only the biggest bully on the block, but we expect everyone else to come in and clean up our messes.
I'll BET, (without barely taking a breath), that Bush will push on to Iraq next and then try and tackle North Korea before his term is up.

And let's look at it from HIS point of view.
Why not?
Who's going to stop him?
By 11/2004, the job should be done.
By then, if the war is not "over", there will still be enough chaos, we'll need to keep him in.
Even if the economy is in the tank.

And we'll be running out of soldiers, so he'll try and re-instate the draft.
Then, chances are, enough citizens will be outraged, that they'll take to the streets to protest.
By then, our Homeland Security force will be seeing them as terrorist threats and the whole world is going to have to swallow (GWB-style) pantloads of the new historical Bush doctrine.
And Ed's little sneer at the bottome of this thread is a common trait of SOME Americans who have such a hard on for GWB and his policies, that they'd sell out their families for him.

If you have any insights as to why this is so, please let me know.

Of course, I can see new buildings shining brightly on the Iraq horizon, and new cars and new roads and new mosques and women walking around in skirts and make-up...kids plugged into Walkmans and Gameboys....and hundreds more terrorists plotting their Jihad.

Meanwhile, the elderly, the unemployed, the uninsured, the under-educated, the soon-to-be-homeless over here in America will double and America will lose her Glory Days.
