Focusing maximum force in minimum time, on your objectives has always been war doctrine. The ape-man in 2001 who picked up the bone and whapped the other guy with it, gave a great lesson in it. Attacking command and control targets has been around forever, as well.
Don't get me wrong. We have awesome technology, wonderful troops, and I am so very glad things are working out well. But come on guys, our ability to beat the crap out of Saddam doesn't prove that we have the ultimate solution to war strategy.
