Thank you for recognizing the distinction between private behaviors among consenting adults and the statutorily established contractual relationship we refer to as marriage.
A law that prohibits sodomy is not the same thing as a law that prohibits same-sex marriages. The former speaks to behavior, the latter refers to a form of legally defined contractual relationship.
