Not sure I'd place the ability to get legally stoned as a major hallmark of a society marching into the future, but whatever.
I personally think this is great. It will be very instructive to see how marijuana decriminalization* works in a nation with a culture and society very much like ours.
Whichever way it turns out, we will learn something.
And while I don't like it, it's long past time under the current circumstances that both our borders were tightened up considerably.
* Which, for the record, I support, or at least support consistency with how our legal system treats alcohol.
