legal in Canada, not the USA

I really don't care if Canada decides to loosen it's laws on drug use. That's for Canadians to decide. I also have no problem with the US stiffening it's borders in response.

When the nature of a neighbor's laws change, sometimes it creates an oppurtunity to reevaluate our own. I don't see where the US is boycotting Canada or even threatening Canada as LJ's title read. There might be some harsh words said back and forth over the fence, but I haven't heard of any boycotts or embargoes over this, just a stiffening of the borders. If I'm wrong please show me.

I believe strongly in the Good Fence/Good Neighbor policy. That doesn't mean we are isolated, just that there is a demarkation of what is yours and what is ours. A good fence will solve disputes before they arise. If an American wants to go to Canada to smoke some weed legally, the stiffening of the border won't stop him. He will only have problems if he tries to bring it back with him. If he doesn't bring it back with him, then no crime no foul. What's the big deal?
