It is a key point. Changing the punishment vs making pot legal certainly changes the debate. In light of Robert's post, it does seem that the US is threatening more than just harsh words. For the record I would encourage beefing up the borders, but do not think we should punish Canada with embargoes, boycotts or embargoes over this little issue. That would just be stupid.
