No terrorist links have been exposed, proven or confirmed in Iraq, even though that was the other 'pillar' of our justification for invading Iraq.
So this is what we went to war for... And this what
Powell before the UN
Rumsfeld before the press
Bush before the american public
All sang in unison BEFORE this war:
1)WE KNOW Iraq has Chemical, Nuclear, Biological weapons.
2)WE KNOW Iraq plans to use these against the US and allies, as this is demonstrated through its ties to terrorism.
3) THEREFORE we have the right and MORAL IMPERITIVE to invade Iraq.
and now that 1,2 and 3 make no sense at all, we trot out our post-facto justifications:
"No... It was about liberation..."
Funny. Is Baghdad liberated right now? Even as it continues to burn? Even as the looters run free?
"No... It was about sending a message to rogue nations and terrorists, to get them to pay attention"
Funny, North Korea is continuing to scrap treaties and build nukes. What message did they get? Iran is continuing to find Ansar Al Islam and continuing to push Shia shari'ist nationalism in Iraq... What message did they get? The Terrorists who killed the americans in Saudi Arabia... Did they get the message? What about the Islamists in Chechnya, were tey listening?
WHY IS NOBODY UPSET!? We were lied to, sold a bill of goods, led into a meaningless war for bogus reasons.
All of those upset at the lies Clinton told before the american public, yet are supporting this situation are hypocrites, in my opinion.
