"Bill Clinton and the Democrats brought this country eight years of the greatest period of economic propserity ever witnessed in the history of civilization."
Well, that's quite an overstatement- an obvious exception was the Roaring Twenties. But anyhow, I do agree that Clinton did do some things right in the beginning of his first term- as far as economic policy, and would say generally his economic team got what they wanted and was pretty good at their job. I would also say that Greenspan played a big factor- plus you had the "Nixon goes to China" situation in which the Republican supported his economic policy.
"Mr. Bush has been at it for over two years now and the country is in a funk."
It should pick up. Shutting down airlines had quite punch upon the economy.
"And where would Mr. Bush be without the remarkable military infrastructure Mr. Clinton built during his years in office?"
Hmm, all I can recall was some push for improving living conditions for the miltary- and this would have been good idea.
