Average load time, complete, 8 seconds, it has been as long as 15, but not often. As a D/U user I've resigned myself to long load times online anymore.
With faster computers, user freindly HTML editors and graphics programs along with the introduction of easy to use JAVA and XTML it has become very easy to build a website that is quite code intensive. With broadband becoming more common it is goign to get worse over time.
Sadly for many of us who live in rural areas broadband availability is restricted to satilite units. And will be for a long time to come, the Communications companies are in no great hurry to build the infrastructure. I asked one of the local ISP guys when DSL would become available out here, he laughed and said in about 2030.
I thought he was kidding, but he wasn't.
