Notice even in my last post I agreed with something you said.
Oh I suppose (ironic understatement follows) I get a little to worked up about the war- but thats the thing... In a war, people die. A lot of them. Just because I don't know em don't make that meaningless... Not saying it is meaningless to you, but I disagree with why we killed them.
And I know, you will say "well saddam would have killed nearly that many over the next 15 years"- yes, you are right, but nevertheless the particular people we killed were still killed by us, for our reasons and for our agenda- this makes them Our responsibility and I am not swayed by stacking actual corpses (the 10,000 dead) against potential corpses and calling the smaller pile of wasted lives 'justified' and 'the right thing to do' simply because it is smaller by some unknown potential. Morality just does not work that way- it cannot work that way.
Frankly, that Dhamer killed three people does not allow me to kill one innocent standing next to or protecting Dhamer AND Dhamer and say its okay because I only killed two people.
And in this analogy, Saddam is still alive- or so it at least seems.
So we are a democracy- and the actions I claim are carried out wrongly by the majority results in the same amount of blood on my hands as it does yours. And so I get angry at you and folks like you- who I will claim have not done their homework and are acting on faith and coating my hands with a whole bunch of Blood.
There it is. its my perception of our situation and my explication of why I get worked up. I will offer you an appology in as much as I am capable of doing so earnestly: namely that I am sorry I got worked up and allow myself to get moderately insulting. But I can not honestly apologize for thinking youre wrong and thinking that you are acting off of faith.
And by the way. If we did this in blind faith- faith in Bush or God or our somehow innate and unexplored rightness- how are we different than Al-Qaeda?
