Scanning the news today, there are about 7-8 non-Iraq things going on in the world that are featured above anything on Iraq.

As to polls in Iraq, I have seen some that indicate that about 80+% of Iraqis favor our presence but any poll that is presented here is pooh-poohed by whichever side disagrees and I can't even say they are wrong to do so.

Spam the board with positive Iraq news? It would be easy but that's not my style. Over 90% of whats wrong in Iraq will be solved by getting the power on and keeping it on. A few days ago I read that this should be done in about 10 days. I am counting down. If I were King, I would throw whoever, whatever, however many people and however much money at getting this done. I have little patience with excuses for it not being done.

I will always believe that the war was a good thing but that doesn't mean we can't shoot ourself in the foot. Failure is always possible but it is not a foregone conclusion. In fact it would be snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
