Vancil proclaimeth: >>>Go rain on someone else's parade with your paranoia<<<
Chris, you're a bright fellow but HOW is it paranoia to assert that the lack of sufficiently incentivized COMPETITION for bringing life to Mars and Mars to life is precisely the reason why we're not achieving precisely that? I suppose you have a BETTER plan? Perhaps you LIKE our continuing to give all the USA's Mars business to LockMart? Maybe you profit from our doing so?
Some of us simply want to see us start to achieve stuff in space again, like we did back when we were still toddlers. The following analyses of our Mars underachievement may be of interest to those among us who share similar goals:
*How NASA's doing less with more regarding Mars
*Online video coverage of how the Bush family perceives NASA's Martian mishaps
*How NASA cheated Hollywood & Mars enthusiasts at the dawn of the new Millennium
*What pro-entrepreneurial legal reforms could enable us to finally bring life to Mars, and Mars to life, withOUT having to extract more from taxpayers than NASA already does?

- NASA's Mars scout mission was COMPETED? Lockheed won again.

- Lockmart - a symptom of NASA's many problems
- You can't really compare the Viking missions with current ones
- Airbags and landing sites
- With luck, you won't be dependent on NASA for your Mars data
- Scientific data from NASA is evil!
- No its not: it's simply biased

- Why won't NASA simply offer competitive prizes, rather than reward the most corrupt lobbyists?
