OK, that's plausible. And clever.
We the People are sometimes deprived of information upon which to base our decisions because of security considerations. In this case, if Mr. Novak is correct, we are being deprived of information upon which to base our decisions for the political advantage of the party in power, so its leadership can knock the slats out from under its opposition. In this way, when a real problem crops up from this surfeit of cleverness, the leadership can say, "Don't listen to them. Remember when they cried 'Wolf!' before?"
He's going to have to have something to distract from what the economic news may be, coming up.
Another gentleman I know, this one in real life, said recently that the Department of Labor's revision of the Federal regulations on business to pay professionals for mandatory overtime will be the last nail in the coffin of Bush's domestic popularity, once the reality of its effects sinks in among the affected groups.
We'll see.
Good to have you back!
