Ever wonder why Lebanese militants are not bombing Syrian facilities and people? It seems obvious to me that Syria will never say "There is no such thing as Lebanon. This is Syria now. Please leave if you are able, or be prepared for very bad times." I believe that the Lebanese think this is the case too. That's why they do not rebel. Take away their hope of independence, and they will.

Ever wonder why Palestinians are not bombing Jordanian people? Jordan has been about as nice to the Palestinians as anyone on the planet. It would be pretty dumb for them to bite that hand.

Why didn't they immediately sign it over to the Palestinians as a homeland? Why would they? If the concern of the Arab world was really over the well-being of the Palestinian people, many things would have been done differently over the past fifty years. Why are we discussing the "concern of the Arab people"? I think Jordan's main concern is Jordan.

Note that Israel contains many Muslim and Arab citizens, including Palestinians. Well yeah. They have been living there for centuries. That they haven't all been chased away is something to brag about?

How many Jewish citizens are there in Jordan, Syria, or other Arab nations? Some few. You tell me, if you have the stats.

Why the fury over Jews living on the West Bank? The fury is that they keep signing agreements that they will cease settling there and then keep doing so. The fury is that it is an area that had few or no Jews but many Arabs, and the Jews are replacing the Arabs there. Is the only valid Palestinian state one that has been cleansed of Jews? Gimme a break.

The entire "oppressed people" bit is a canard, and simply an excuse for the pursuit of a vicious anti-Jewish agenda of the Palestinian leadership and other Arab nations. The reason no American president has succeeded in the peace process is that the Palestinian leadership and many of its people will accept no solution that does not involve the extinction of Israel. I don't know where one goes from there in a negotiation.

To sum it up: the Palestinians have nothing to complain about. It's all PR because Arabs hate Jews. I ended a thread like this about 6 months ago with a link to these statistics. I wonder if they will meet the same stony silence, this time.

Bottom line: Israelis are systematically pushing Arabs out of Palestine and replacing them with Jews. Now it is going on on the west bank as it did before in Israel proper. If you really think the Arabs have no reason to resent this, then you and I are so far apart that we can't have a meaningful discussion on the topic.

As I pointed out the last time I posted these stats, if the Jews (or any group of non-Texans) tried this in Texas -- UN mandates, or not -- there would be Jews (or etc.) hanging from every lamp post. And you would probably defend the Texans.
