Saddam was and is assumed by the Left to have been telling the truth about his lack of WMD, while Bush was and is assumed to be lying. This was long before the war.

In all the hundreds of peace protests, with thousands of protestors, there were thousands of signs berating Bush and Blair in the foulest terms.

There was not a single sign calling on Saddam to do anything to promote the cause of peace. Just one single "Saddam Please Disarm" sign would have spoken volumes.
