I wonder if the Senate can.
The HZ is semi-public, and we stop the spammers here.
My personal telephone is not a party-line, so it falls well short of any sort of public forum.
The "air medium" is really the only public forum available, for both audio and radio propagation of public announcements, debates, and what not (and we all know that audio has legal dB limits, just as radio has frequency and amplitude limits). My phone may be used by me to enter into a debate of sorts, but of my own choosing. It is, after all, my dime. Posting my phone number to public review and possible use is illegal. the same should hold true for any business trying to contact me at any time of the day or night to feed me a commercial.
I've slept on it a few days, and have decided that telemarketers claiming a violation of Freedom of Speech are dead wrong -- and I think our highly educated Senate should be able to see that by now.
What's the damned holdup?
