re: Contrary to popular belief -- in some circles -- answering the phone does not kill . . .

Smoking does.

I have my own complaints, seeing the hypocritical commercials from Lewis Rich about how much the company is doing in their ongoing battle to "dissuade" use the of their product by minors, without actually going to the limit (i.e., removing their admittedly deadly product from the market).

Telemarketing, on the other hand, is looked upon as little more than a nuisance -- or at least that's what our telemarketing community would like to be the case. What it really amounts to is invasion of personal privacy -- not that there is really any such thing as "privacy" anymore. We are, however, supposed to be able to enjoy the figment of some level of privacy in our everyday lives.

Or so one would like to think,
Dan
