re: C'mon -- still quitting . . . ?

As far as I’m concerned, my castle walls are to be considered by all as unbreachable, and if the solicitor is so rude as to ignore my “NO SOLICITATIONS” sign, then he/she should expect the earful I shall give in retaliation.

My walls shall remain unbreachable, or at least as unbreachable as the Constitution will allow, and Freedom of Speech does not reach into the private home. What exists there is the rule of the house, not the rule of the government, and solicitation stops at the city sidewalk.

And your argument earlier about people being allowed to disturb the peace outside my home is also untrue. I might have to complain about unsolicited activity outside my home, that is directed toward my home (others might have already done so, or the police might have already viewed the disturbance), and this would be considered a nuisance action, but not nearly as troublesome as for the person taken away to the police station for questioning. Not to mention family members who would be called to take the troublemaker into custody.

As for religious canvassing, I hate them, but will grant a few moments of my time. My wife, on the other hand, will guide them by the nose around the finer points of Judaism 'til sunset.

As for political canvassing, I hate them, but will grant a few moments of my time. My wife, on the other hand, will guide them by the nose around street and public sidewalk repairs 'til sunset.

I have little enough time for such 'chit-chat' -- and I get quite enough of the political here.

Cheers,
Dan
