I found it offensive too but I've already said this is a Holy War. Bush is a born-again Christian who thinks he is always right. All he has to do is pray, and god will lead him to the right decision. That he surrounds himself with people like Ashcroft and others who wear this self-righteous cloak of Christianity shows me their hubris is showing. And if they didn't all the weapons in the world, maybe it wouldn't be so frightening.
And you know what? They might just keep going on their self-righteousness until the real gods have to step in and foul up their plans. Wouldn't put it past them. It's happened before.
