re: In our representative democracy...

...it is our ("we the people...") responsibility to determine what wars to get into and what wars to get out of. "Responsibility" as in: we own all the blame and all the credit.

Maybe you forgot the democratic vote a while back that supported Bush's use of force in Iraq. Sure as hell a lot of congressmen who voted for it seem to have forgotten it.

If your attitude is that once we are already in it, we must all become supporters of a war, then I don't think much of your sense of responsibility or your patriotism.

I'm more concerned with what our media and policitians do, than whether or not you personally support the war. Your opinions (or mine for that matter) aren't bounced all around the world.

As I have mentioned a number of times, the only way our enemies in Iraq can win is by the Somalia tactic. My opinions have to do with our military effort being cut off at the knees by Americans in positions of responsibility in politics and the media who play into the hands of this tactic.

They can wrap themselves in Dissent and Free Speech and everything else, but the hard fact is that in their obsession with destroying Bush these people play into the hands of the people blowing up our troops.

I'm not asking them to shut up. I'm asking them to be on our side. Did the boxing analogy go right over your head?

However, I suspect that most of your opinions have more to do with your attempts to get Bush reelected.

Like he needs MY help.

Goddammit, I just want America and the Iraqi people to win. Don't you? And just for the record, which shining star of the Democratic Party currently running in 2004 do you want in charge of America?
