re: Free speech
Sometimes I wonder if the concept of free speech is even understood.
Free speech is a constitutional right in America. Respect is simply a courtesy. Some are courteous others are not. To my knowledge someone's free speech has not been abbrogated by a lack of courtesy. If someone threatens violence or sanctions against another because of something that person said or will say, than free speech has been squelched only if the person out of fear retracts the statement or does not or cannot speak.
A simple lack of respect for a point of view has nothing to do with freedom of speech, especially when the speaker continues.
