Justin,
Give me a break. Its obvious that U.S. forces had some inkling that this was coming. They were well prepared for simultaneous coordinated assaults during this mission.
As for Bosnia, your right, "this crap happened in Bosnia all the time." But, keep in mind that, unlike Iraq, not a single U.S. soldier died there. In otherwords, the people running the military at that time were much better "prepared and equiped" and were better at "reacting properly" than our forces in Iraq. I say that using your own terms. The reason for this is that we currently have incompetents running our military today, unlike the past administration. They need to be replaced with people who know what they're doing.
Unfortunately, some news media accounts are suggesting that the enemy had fewer casualties and that many of the dead were civilians: MSNBC I prefer to trust the official accounts, but if a different tale is being shared among Iraqi citizens it would not bode well.
Donald.
