Well you missed out. The effects, as expected, were much better. No more recycled scenes of Vipers exploding. The Vipers now have thrusters instead of relying on magical space aerodynamics. They still have the steam catapult to get them "airborn" but they got rid of the "landing lights" in the lauch tube.

The new Cylons are bitchin'. You only see them in the first scene escorting the hypersexual female Cylon/human model to meet with a real human delegate at a remote outpost...

Starbuck is a woman. So is Boomer. This doesn't work for me. Call me old fashioned, but I just can't 'buy' a cussing, brawling, cigar chomping, blonde. And Boomer was a cool black guy and now he's a nondescript Asian woman.

No more "Yahrens" and not one "By...your... command" (yet). No Egyptian-headress helmets. FTL is now in the vocabulary as well as EMP.
