Your observations on the economy fail the scientific method. if some things go up you say it's because of Bush, and if they go down you say it's because of Bush they didn't go down further.

It's all circular, yet another logical fallacy. Of course if it wasn't for being illogical Bush wouldn't have any policy. Here's some charts on his wonderful performance. To his credit he's surpassed Poppy as the worst President in history with unemployment. Interesting how the worst in history is so praiseworthy. First you try and change to another statistical system that looks better, and when that didn't work it's back to the "what's a few steenkin jobs anyway".

“Hmm, I heard on the news that the economy is recovering. That’s got to mean unemployment is down, right?”

Why not just admit Bush's record on jobs sucks? Start from the truth and you may end up somewhere meaningful.
