The Beagle 2 has always been more publicity stunt than science. It was underfunded from the start. In fact, its still not paid for. There are huge outstanding loans still due. One wonders who will get stuck with the bill if the mission fails.
That being said, I hope we hear something soon. The science results from this lander was one of our best hopes of getting Barry to finally shut up.
