There are more jobs now than there have ever been. The bad news is that there are more workers now than there have ever been, and the former is not keeping up with the latter. I was quite impressed when I learned this, since I did not know it before. This is not the interpretation most of the media is putting on it, and if you asked the man on the street, most would tell you that there are fewer people working now than before. This is not true.
