A tip: when someone is throwing jargon at a layman, they are trying to put something over on them. this applies to all sciences and fields of study.

There is damn little that cannot be reworded to explain it sufficiently to anyone of normal intelligence, and many great scientists and scientific writers, as well as economists, have no problem doing this.

You have no idea what the term meant either, do you?
