If, as you imply, Cheney did not deliberately say something inaccurate with malice, or intent to deceive, it was not a lie. At most a misrecollection.
Where have I implied that Cheney's inaccuracies weren't said with an intent to deceive? My referring to those inaccuracies as "lies" should tell you I believe they were deliberate deceptions.
That's what lies are -- deliberate deceptions. Try to focus.
If you think this is a real issue, you need to get out more.
When the V.P of the U.S. goes on national t.v. and says the administration believes Iraq has "reconstituted nuclear weapons" and then our subsequent invasion finds no sign of them, that IS a real issue. Cheney's previous inaccuracy about "the crosses row on row" in Arlington Memorial Cemetery is evidence Cheney has shamelessly before. That knowledge is helpful in assessing whether he really believed Iraq had "reconstituted nuclear weapons" or was lying as he had in the past.
We have a responsibility as American citizens to hold our government officials accountable for the things they do (or don't do), including the lies they tell. Condoning or pretending those lies don't exist just ensures more lying. That's not good, although I doubt you're bright or honest enough to understand why.
