How many people prefer anaglyphs for stereo viewing of rover images?

Let's find out. I've posted version 3 of the MER2003 Image Workbench, which uses a Java applet to generate anaglyphs from rover stereo pairs. It seems to work fairly well--I get more of a 3D effect from the anaglyphs than I do from side-by-side viewing.

It's not all roses, though--the applet has problems with full-size images, and I think it assumes the separation of the average human eyes. The rover cameras are about 30 cm apart, so the results seem very exaggerated, especially in the foreground. I'll be getting in touch with the applet author to see if he's willing to fix some things. In the meantime, I'd sure appreciate some feedback from many people trying it out, so I can get a handle on how well it's working in general.

Thanks for all your support and help testing this thing.

Oh, almost forgot to post the URL, which matters because it's changed:

http://rovers.habitablezone.com/Workbench/

The folder is now "Workbench". There's a redirect on the old "Viewer" folder, so nobody needs to change bookmarks. But if you want to post links elsewhere on the Net (broad hint!), please use the latest one.
