re: As I don't recall . . .

In my oh so humble opinion, Frank, this place was easier for conservatives when Clinton was busy lying and there were very few liberals.

Now, with Bush busy lying and more liberals, it's a bit tougher.

GWB's credibility is as hard to defend as was Clintons, his policies make less and less sense to informed people, be they conservative or liberal, the Rs control the whole Federal Government and the country is a fiscal shambles without the respect of much of the world, the only thing propping up the stock market are foreigners, and the "war on terror" has left Americans less safe.

It's just tough to be a conservative around here. As it used to be tough to be a liberal. That was part of the attraction, by the way.

However, if you'll note, it's become a more civilized place, with only conservatives using foul language, with more focus on issues and fewer ad hominem attacks, except, again, by conservatives. Used to be that liberals would join in on those tactics.

I'm not sorry to see SDAI leave, not for his politics but because his irrationality had flowed into a rather noisy bigotry, coupled with unwarranted personal attacks on board participants. This is no place for that. I don't think there is a place for that.

(As opposed to "warranted" personal attacks, being defined as those I make. I hope you can appreciate that.)

So, regarding your post, for the moment anyway it's harder for a conservative to drop by and be validated by virtually everything he/she sees. And, it's a bit more civil and interesting, and your sniping would be missed. You were dead on in your assessment as to why I left. It's funny I saw that. I stopped by about every 4 months, that was a day.
