And I appreciate that it's a small organization doing its best with its limited resources. Frankly, I enjoy hearing about Christian organizations that listen to their founder. You might want to think about who he hung out with, though: the unclean and the sinners, not just the unlucky.
What I was getting at is this: It's easy to have a high success rate for a social program when the group preselected for the program already has advantages that allow for a greater possibility for success. If an insurance company limits its coverage to people under forty with no pre-existing medical conditions, they can offer quite a deal to their policy-holders too. That leaves the other insurance companies, the ones who have to cover the old and the ill, with higher premiums.
When any social organization cherrypicks, it will get more positive results. To say that your church does a better job than the government, you would first have to serve the same demographic that the government serves: clean and unclean, righteous and sinner, with no differentiation. No other comparison is adequate or fair. For they are all equal in the eyes of their Father, aren't they?

I meant it when I said your church was to be commended.
