I think a person like Bush comes along every once in a while to show that the price of liberty is eternal vigilance. Goes for a lot of things. If I'm vigilant, I'll stay sober. If I'm sober, I'm free.
The lesson we should learn from Bush is first, in an election, COUNT THE VOTES.
Second, power tends to corrupt, and on a global corporate level, this country is corrupt. The visible stock deals from which Bush and Cheney both profited are only the tip of the iceberg.
Third, we'll be reminded that every action has a reaction, and that hate breeds hate. And the US is creating hate in people faster than we can kill 'em. (I suppose killing 'em is bringing some sort of freedom to the poor folks.) And creating refugees, who are free on the order of Janis Joplin's freedom, nothing left to lose.
The lesson should be to fight terrorism with every effective means available, to enlist the help of all countries to the best of their abilities, and get the terrorists. NOT THE INNOCENT, which, by the way, is what terrorists do. Terrorists like the US has been.
The passion you feel as an American is nothing compared to the passion a family has after the US has killed their babies. Remember those 9 kids, innocent, bystanders, harmless, who were slaughtered by the A-10. Now those folks have a passion.
The US will be paying for that stolen election for a long, long time.
So what don't they like about Kerry?
