One, from a liberals point of view, the havoc Bush is raising with this country and the world is enough to make almost any candidate look good, as Mary Anne suggested below. And

Two, many of the "Bush sucks" posts are comments on policies, such as the tax cut, or aggression, and don't have to do directly with a comparison between the two men.

If you'll remember 2000, the Republicans settled on GWB early and focussed on beating Gore. After 8 years of Clinton's despicable personal life, and with an eye on the surplus, they put aside all differences and went for the gold, so to speak.

I think the Democrats are in the same position now. After 4 years of what we perceive as destroying the economy, eroding Human Rights, eroding Civil Rights, etc., etc., and etc. (you get the idea) the liberals are focussed.

The "ringer" is Nader, and in my mind when push comes to shove I think folks won't really vote for him. They'll support his program right up to the booth. And maybe the wish is the father of the thought.

And, I can't resist this, Bush sucks. The man really is a disgrace to the office, both in his personal life as an incompetent glad-hander and illegal stock trader, as a dim-witted, poorly educated person who doesn't "do nuance" or understand the "vision thing", and a person who has caused the deaths of 5 times as many innocent people as AQ.

And that's just in my opinion. My humble opinion. My most humble, really really humble, more humble than damned near anyone elses, so humble it would make Mother Teresa's knees quake and head bow, opinion.
