If you don't even read the papers online, where are you getting all your information? Maybe you subscribe to all of them?
whiteouse.gov transcripts, state-dept whitepaper, Reprints in other non-registered papers, Google, Google news, Foreign English language rags (aussie, New Zealand, Brit, FAZ, BBC). I go for raw source most times over opinions-about-raw-source-published-as-news. I don't like folks who choose a editorial writer or a journalist and argues according to the framework provided. The quality of journalism in the Domestic rags is not very good.
Most of my sources and research comes simply from a careful and experieced use of Google and then following up on the organizations, sources and authors for the material I dig up (using google again- if someone is a crank it comes out REAL fast, and if they might be making something up it comesa out REAL fast). In fact, alot of what I do in evaluating news and finding reference material is essentially employing journalistic techniques more than academic techniques.
