There is no conservative outrage at corporate crookedness. Unless it directly impacts some conservative. No one voiced any outrage in the two posts related to Halliburton and stealing.
The UN people were crooks. No question about it, and they should be punished severely. Now, does that significantly impact the ability of the UN to help with Iraq?
Being crooked doesn't seem to affect the idea that Halliburton, et al. can reconstruct Iraq.
There are crooks everywhere, but why is it so reprehensible for one group to steal from the Iraqi people, and not another?
I think the double standard is the issue, not the violation of trust by some officials of the UN.
I would have to say that the UN guys should be shot, and the Halliburton et al. folks should just have to live in the areas which will do without because of their crookedness.
And I'm sure the fines don't cover the amounts stolen, and that the items discovered are just the tip of the iceberg.

I'd be interested in seeing the outrage.
