I am hoping for a free and prosperous Iraq

Oil is what got the Free World involved in the Middle East decades ago. (We are not getting our noses bloody in the conflicts of Africa at the moment) Its location the former USSR might have also played a part in our interest there.

So, Free World, lets not kid ourselves. Our self-interest for oil is what has drawn us to the Middle East all these decades. By being there, it has changed us, I believe. We have learned about their culture and their people. Some in the Free World actually do care about the people of the Middle East. Maybe oil got us there, but we are there, and we do care.

But the Middle East doesn’t think we care about them. They see us as the evil Free World who is after their oil (If I am to believe what the news media is pushing at me). We must find a way to show them we are sincere. Giving Iraq back to its people will be a good way to do this. Be it lead by Bush, Kerry, or someone else, I hope a prosperous free Iraq and Afghanistan are born in the near future. Maybe Iran will follow. If Pakistan and India don’t blow each other off the map, maybe Pakistan will also follow.

I wonder how Saudi Arabia will react to a free and prosperous Iraq?

Another thing. We talk as our interest in Oil being a bad thing. We have paid for this Oils. It has made the Middle East lots of money. I think it is way that money has been horded by the rich and how it has been used for bad things that makes it feel like a bad thing. The Middle East Oil is a powerful resource that has the potential to make all Middle Easterns have a better life. It shouldn't be a bads thing. It should be a thing of commerce.
