Not only did the series devolve rapidly from whatever quality it had, but it also portrayed interspecies breeding and birth, a genetic impossibility.
And speaking of water, why try to take it from an inhabited planet where you need an escape velocity of 7 miles per second, when there are billions of comets at the edge of the Sol system with multitons of water ice - to say nothing of all the other solar systems which no doubt have plenty of their own ice comets.
Darn that reality science, it spoils all our fun!
