Thanks Tony......

.......for succinctly saying what I was going to say.

REB, I understand your empathy for the Iraqis and seeing them "liberated" (LOL) is a good thing for you. Your Christian doctrine and your good heart allow for this. I won't argue that Sadam was BAD. We USED to USE him, then he became of no consequence to us. There are plenty of other regimes around that are comparable to his. We just don't need to go after them yet...

How about the thousands that are starving daily in the Sudan? Who's responsibility is it to save them? Maybe the 200 billion we spent getting oil would have been better spent feeding them? Don't go getting all morally uppity with me.

>You liberals are supposed to be the frontrunner for human rights across the globe.

Hmmm.......I take care of family first. That's US, the United States.
We have the UN and peacekeeping forces that bring aid to needy countries. You are ignoring that this was a "pre-emptive" war, and you seem to think the whole operation was done to remove a murderous dictator and his sons.
Well, hey, that's NOT the reason we went to war.

Personally I am glad Saddam is in captivity. Nothing the courts do to him will be justice enough. I am glad his sons are dead. But the cost was too high. Our standing in the world has dropped. We have become what we fought against. Our soldiers are worn down, the national debt is sky high, but the oil and defense industries and the men who run it are doing just fine, thank you.
