Good grief, Tom. We and every one else knew about this stuff. It was never considered a risk. Its presence was not in violation of international law or U.N. resolutions. The Bush administration never regarded or claimed this stuff as a potential WMD threat while Saddam was in power. The Iraqi government did not have any plans to surrepticiously use the stuff for illicit means. This had nothing to do whatsoever with alleged WMDs.
Frankly, I am disgusted as to the lengths you neocons will lie and misconstrue everything to try and reverse justify the war. Its pathetic. Every hospital on the face of the planet produces this sort of radiological waste. Using your logic we should go to war against Great Britain which probably has thousands of times more of this stuff. There is a far greatest risk today that these sorts of materials in Russia will fall into the wrong hands, so lets go to war there as well.
And in fact, its presence and the way it was being secured, monitored and inspected actually demonstrates Iraqi compliance with international law. In fact, when we invaded Iraq, we actually created a serious potential that this stuff might get siphoned off by looters running rampant amidst the chaos of war.
Talk about reinventing history. You are so desperate to justify this reckless little war that you grasp for every straw you can no matter how ridiculous the claim may be.
