I'm sorry Geof, duct tape doesn't preclude the use of glue.

The 5th amendment augments honesty not precludes it. You could look at the self-incrimination clause as an extension of the police powers clause. The miranda laws come out of the abuse of power by the state. The abuse of power by the British is why we have the 5th amendment at all.

I doubt I'm helping you understand this at all.
