When I see something with some coherence and interest, then as a tutor and as a person I try to point out the good in the contribution. and at the same time the limitations, inaccuracies etc.

At least it was an interesting read - 'pretty speculations' as I put it. Maybe some formal science or engineering training would give him that extra necessary mental discipline ..

(or to quote Clint Eastwood at the end of Magnum Force: "a man's got to know his limitations .." - you have to mutter this through clenched teeth of course)
