Well, more has been revealed, and there's nothing that isn't old.
It seems as if Bush wants to keep the country frightened for his own political reasons. He clearly wants to be known as a "war president" and to plead for continuity in leadership during perilous times.
What seems strange is that all his efforts don't seem to have made the country safer. Iraq is a failed situation, there is more hate and distrust for the US than three years ago, and rather than bringing peace to the bigger Middle East it has become destabilized to a larger degree. Americans and others are dying for very limited gain.
Domestically, the population is more frightened as restrictions on civil liberties increase. The economy is hyperstimulated by defense and deficit spending and the weakening dollar, the balance of payments is a bleeding wound which leaves the economy at the mercy of foreign nations and domestic programs will/are going down the tube for lack of funds. "Charity begins at home" sort of stuff.
Wouldn't seem to be anything which warranted continued leadership.
