Remember "the party of 'Scoop' Jackson and Franklin Delano Roosevelt"?
I said it's "not any more." As with Reagan, the Democrats left Miller, not the other way around. The Democratic Party of today is largely run by the 1960s Left, and they succeed in elections only so far as they are able to conceal this.
For the record, the subject of Miller's speech is going to be Kerry's Senate record. Should be interesting. Or will that be "not fair" too?
How many of us have see something like this: a black and new SUV with a bumper sticker which reads "Bush Cheney for 04" almost run over some homeless person selling the local streetwise newspaper on the streetcorner?
The answer is, "nobody." You haven't. Neither has anyone else here. Do you think anybody with any intelligence is buying these cartoon stereotypes, which were already old in the 1930s? Maybe the blithering idiots marching in New York, or others with brains as smoothly-surfaced as a baby's bottom. Not many regular voters, though.
"Heart" is one of these things the Republicans lack and they think it's like a cup of sugar you can borrow from the neighbors.
"Heart" and "compassion" is defined by the Democrats as passing out government largesse. This is not what real compassion and "heart" is.
