McCain is not one of those lying Dems. If McCain didn't like Bush he would say so. McCain has principles [a alien concept to some people]. A principled person does not lie by saying he/she likes someone when he/she does not. McCain chose not to be Kerry's VP, because he favors Bush as President- and he is going to campaign for Bush because he thinks Bush would be a better President than Kerry.
McCain has said that he considers Kerry as a friend, and McCain isn't just saying that, rather he actually does consider Kerry a friend. McCain thinks it's perfectly possible for two friends to be against one other in a political campaign. Only a partisan hack could fail to understand that friends can disagree over politics, especially if the same person can understand that it's possible for two brothers who love and respect each other, but join opposite sides of a civil war and fight to the death.
