Heard one account say they were "disappointing" and another say they were "in line". An educated and objective reporter looking at the statistical error would call the numbers in line. Chances are you will see most reports calling the numbers lower than expected or disappointing. Not truly false, but definitely misleading. I don't call the projections ever being rounded to more than the nearest 10,000. The horrid numbers in July and August have also been rounded up to still dismal numbers, but that won't get a lot of play either. I strongly disagree with Bush's economic policies and think his tax cuts were horribly ineffective as tax cuts go and possibly even detrimental by encouraging over seas investment, but I'm sick of the press's constant spinning of news to make him look even worse than he is.

Mark
