Substitute "patriots" for "terrorists", and we could be talking about the American revolutionaries, except for the "cruise missile" reference. The British didn't have the word "terrorist", but they used others that were the equivalent in their day. And there were British "sympathizers" back then too.

I don't recall American revolutionaries invading schools and shooting kids in the back, or blowing up cafes, or taking boats to England and trying to blow up Parliament.

I don't recall American revolutionaries fighting to install a system of government that enslaves women, kills minorities, supports violence as a tool of politics, and enshrines a particular faction of a religion as the core of the state.

Save it for Michael Moore and the other pinheads.

As far as using "policemen" to fight terrorism, you're welcome to try. Good luck serving a warrant in Fallujah. If you think Afghanistan is the only nation on Earth looking the other way while radical Islam puts down roots, think again.

We are giving two nations that used to be dictatorships a shot at freedom. That's infinitely more than they had a few years ago. It may not work. But it might.

I do know nobody else has come up with any better ideas other than years of talking, making speeches, and maybe dropping a bomb or two once in a while without changing anything essential. If the Left had its way, Saddam would still rule Iraq, and the Taliban would still be in Afghanistan.

Remember, there were almost as many protests over the invasion of Afghanistan as there were when Iraq became the target. Rewriting history to pretend that the Left always thought occupying Afghanistan was a swell idea isn't going to work.
