The Democrats have still not gotten it through their head that they don't run the information spigot any more.

There is a series of new Bush attacks being planned. Even after everything that's happened in the past couple of months, these attacks are based on one premise: that the Old Media will back their move without question.

After the 60 Minutes fiasco and the Swift Boat breakout, you'd think a clue would have landed.

Kerry apparently supported a quick counterattack when the first Swift Boats ad came out, but his campaign told him that the media would "spike" the story for them, and it wouldn't get anywhere. The media did this, but it didn't do the job. They aren't the only game in town any more.

CBS News put out a sloppy story, but assumed that their say-so would be enough to carry it. It always had been before. So a lot of work didn't get done that should have, and they got caught out.

Looks like nothing is going to change.

Now, there will be more poorly-thought-out attacks. It's easier than doing the research, after all. And I predict they will hit the wall just as fast.

Let's wait and see.
